On SUNDAY 2nd NOVEMBER, it was our Annual BEST DECORATED & HEAVIEST PUMPKIN COMPETITION and FANCY DRESS PARADE…
It was all good fun and a real traditional village event with some great, imaginative entries and the hugest pumpkin ever entered!
Winners for the BEST DECORATED PUMPKINS were:
5yrs and under; Daisy Dobbin
6-7yrs : Jennifer Caitens Smith
8-9 yrs : Megan Talbot
10-11yrs : Sammy Murton
12-13yrs : Kyfer Murton
14-16yrs : Sophie Garrod
Adult : Doris Lancaster
Winners for the HEAVIEST Pumpkin and weights
1st : Les Cook with an amazing 164 lb pumpkin ( now on the village green)
2nd : Ken Garrod
3rd : Sophie Garrod

Congratulations to all our winners and thanks to everyone for taking part and for coming to watch.
Thanks to Trevor Mason for the loan of his scales and to everyone who helped, especially to provide refreshments which were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
Thanks too to our judges, David and Stephanie Blincow from Caston who had a difficult job deciding on the winners, they were all so brilliant!
