2021 - 2022 Season

 

Our annual season runs from the AGM in September until the AGM the following year.

 

Indoor Meetings:

 

Doors open 1.30pm.  

Speaker: 2pm

 

2021

 

November 10th :

This month's talk is by Angie from Norfolk Hedgehog Rescues titled 'Helping our Hedgehogs'.

 

*December 8th : Xmas Lunch and social

Doors open 1.30pm for 2pm. Our social will have a quiz and a Christmas buffet. Please bring a dish to share and a wrapped gift for the secret santa. Don't forget to bring a seasonal photograph, a flower you have grown and a vegetable from your garden for our competitions.

 

2022

 

January 12th :

This month's talk is by our very own member Nigel Lincoln titled 'An Introduction to Bee Keeping'. Don't forget to bring a seasonal photograph, a flower you have grown and a vegetable from your garden for our competitions. Of course, there will be free refreshments and our usual raffle.

 

*February 9th :

This month's talk is by Ken from the Garden Enclosure at Banham Zoo titled 'Looking Forward to Spring'. Don't forget to bring a seasonal photograph, a flower you have grown and a vegetable from your garden for our competitions. There will be free refreshments and our usual raffle.

 

Sunday 27th February : Annual lunch

Details TBC.

 

March 9th:

This month's talk is by Jim Paine of Walnut Tree Farm titled 'Gardening in Shade'. There will be plants from the nursery available to buy. Don't forget to bring a seasonal photograph, a flower you have grown and a vegetable from your garden for our competitions. There will be free refreshments and our usual raffle.

 

OUTSIDE VISITS

 

*April 13th : Norfolk Herbs

Oliver -  Blackberry Farm, Dillington (Nr Gressenhall), Dereham ,  NR19 2QD (25mins) Tour, talk & Refreshments provided, no charge. – let them know numbers beforehand please.  2pm there 25mins leave Village Hall 1.30pm 01362860812 No charge but they expect people to buy!

 

Sunday in May :   HORN FAIR

Date and details to be confirmed. Plants required for sale. Tombola and tea stall. Volunteers required!  Please let Ed or Liz know what you are able to do.

 

*May 11th : Medlar Orchard

Our next outside club visit will be Wednesday 11th May. We will be visiting Jane Steward's Medlar Orchard at Eastgate House, NR10 4HF. Leaving the village hall at 1pm to be there by 2pm. There is a 6-acre garden, tree belt and paddock with a wildflower meadow and legacy bramleys. We will be given a tour, talk and tastings in the Medlar Kitchen. There will be an additional charge of £3 per person.

 

*June 8th : Merrythought Nursery

This month's outside club visit, Wednesday 8th June, will be to the Merrythought Nursery, Santon Downham, IP27 0TU. We will leave the village hall at 1.30pm to be there by 2pm. We will have an opportunity to look around the nursery and there will be a demonstration by Jane Langley with plants available to purchase.

 

*July 13th: Gabriel's Garden

This month's club visit on Wednesday 13th July will be to Gabriel's Garden in Gissing. This is a specialist cut flower nursery. We will leave the village hall at 1.30pm to be there by 2pm.

 

*August 10th : Wyken Vineyard gardens

Our last outside club visit of the year is to the Wyken Vineyard Gardens in Stanton, Bury St Edmunds. We leave the village hall at 1.15 to be there by 2pm. This is a lovely country garden and park. Refreshments will be available and the Leaping Hare shop will be open for purchases. There will be a surcharge of £5 per person.

 

*September 14th : AGM

Presentation of Club Year and afternoon tea. Presentation of coming year's program, raffle and quiz.
